Third, operational burden: supplementary physical right/posterior leads require electrode repositioning after standard 12-lead test, but synthesized 18-lead ECG uses the same electrode setup and cuts emergency examination time.
Clinical consensus also defines technical limitations: the accuracy of synthesized 18-lead ECG fully relies on high-quality 12-lead signals. Electrode misplacement, excessive skin impedance and myoelectric interference will amplify algorithm errors, so standardized electrode placement is essential for reliable virtual waveforms.
