Medical Monitor's meaning and function

A medical monitor is a device or system that measures and controls the physiological parameters of a patient, and can be compared with the known set value, and can send out an alarm if it exceeds the standard. The monitor must continuously monitor the physiological parameters of the patient for 24 hours, detect the trend of change, point out the critical situation, and provide the basis for emergency treatment and treatment by the doctor, so as to minimize the complications and achieve the purpose of alleviating and eliminating the condition. In addition to measuring and monitoring physiological parameters, the purpose of the monitor also includes monitoring and processing the conditions before and after medication and surgery.

With the steady growth of the medical device market in my country, medical monitors have evolved from being mainly used for the monitoring of critically ill patients in the past to the current monitoring of general wards, and even primary medical units and community medical units have also put forward application requirements.

In 2009, the penetration rate of medical monitors in China was only 20%. The penetration rate of medical monitors is positively related to the living standards of a country's citizens. In 2009, China's per capita GDP was US$3678. Judging from the compound growth rate of my country's per capita GDP in the past 20 years, the annual compound growth rate of the penetration rate of medical monitors in my country will be about 8.01% in the next 5 years. From the perspective of the long-term development of the industry, with the further improvement of the industry's R&D level and the further improvement of my country's medical security system, high-end products will gradually become the mainstream.

The monitor is different from the monitoring diagnostic instrument. It must continuously monitor the physiological parameters of the patient for 24 hours, detect the trend of change, point out the critical situation, and provide the doctors for emergency treatment and treatment, so as to minimize complications, achieve alleviation and eliminate the condition the goal of.

In addition to measuring and monitoring physiological parameters, the purpose of the monitor also includes monitoring and processing the conditions before and after medication and surgery.

The standard 6 parameters of the monitor are ECG, respiration, non-invasive blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation, pulse, and body temperature. In addition, optional parameters include: invasive blood pressure, end-respiratory carbon dioxide, respiratory mechanics, anesthetic gas, cardiac output (invasive and non-invasive), EEG bispectral index and so on.

The scope of clinical application of the monitor: during operation, after operation, trauma care, coronary heart disease, critically ill patients, newborns, premature infants, hyperbaric oxygen chambers, delivery rooms, etc.
