How the temperature probe works
The probe for temperature measurement contains a high precision thermistor whose impedance varies with the outside temperature. The instrument converts the resistance change of thermistor into electrical signal, and the temperature value is obtained by calculation.
Placement of the temperature probe: the probe conducts the temperature on the heat transfer surface, just like the thermometer. If the probe is not properly connected to the body surface, or if the probe is loosened by the patient's movement, the temperature value will be incorrect. To avoid this, it is recommended that the temperature probe be firmly attached to the patient's armpit with two pieces of tape, one on the skin and the other on the lead wire that holds the probe in place to prevent the probe from falling off when pulled. It is best to measure the temperature inside the cavity.
Cleaning and maintenance of the temperature probe: during daily maintenance, the dirt on the cable surface of the temperature probe can be cleaned by soaking the sponge with soapy water or other suitable cleaning agent, and then wiped dry. The probe can be sterilized with anhydrous alcohol.Do not immerse the probe cable in water, and do not scrub with any abrasives. The heat resistant temperature of the temperature probe is not more than 60℃.The storage environment temperature of the probe and cable is between -20℃ and +60℃. When not in use, it can be suspended or laid flat to prevent damage.
